Relief & Rehab - AIDS

Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, or AIDS, is a chronic illness caused by the HIV virus. HIV infection compromises an individual’s immune system, making them vulnerable to opportunistic infections and illnesses. In the absence of guidance or instruction, it might infect other people and kill their cells.

In India, the AIDS epidemic has had a significant impact. According to the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), 2.14 million Indians were HIV positive in 2019. Unfortunately, the stigma and discrimination encountered by people living with HIV/AIDS in India remain significant barriers to stopping the spread of this virus. Many people are afraid to seek diagnosis or treatment due to the social stigma associated with the disease. Prevention is the key to stopping the spread of HIV/AIDS.

SGF believes in educating the public through medical, welfare support, education, and community awareness initiatives to achieve this goal. We also provide nutrition to HIV-affected families to improve their health and well being.

Our project aims to empower communities, both urban and rural, by raising awareness through an education campaign. We strive to dispel misconceptions about AIDS and make the information more accessible and acceptable in the community. Our goal is to inspire individuals to take care of their health and protect themselves and their loved ones from HIV/AIDS.
